Anthropologist and Urban Ethnographer
As academicians, we are confronted with two paths. One leads us to teach, to immerse ourselves in research, and then to return to the so-called “normal” life — a life that is never truly settled. The other calls us to be visionaries, to work together in imagining and shaping new possibilities and alternative futures. These futures may not be free from challenges, yet they hold the promise of greater adaptability and collective strength in meeting them.
I chose the road less traveled, and that has made all the difference.

Through research, teaching, and collaboration, knowledge becomes a path that shapes futures and transforms lives.
Dr. Priyadarshini leads two interdisciplinary research clusters,
guided by the conviction that collaboration ignites fresh ideas and cultivates excellence.
At the heart of Dr. Priyadarshini’s research lies a commitment to developing and experimenting with new methodological approaches that open fresh avenues of inquiry.
At the core of Dr. Priyadarshini’s work is public engagement, shaping research that speaks directly to the rhythms of daily life and the policies and practices that govern it.
